Homemade Pizza!

First ever #homemade #pizza!!!! Made from scratch and pretty impressive if I say so myself. #China does not seem to believe in pizza #sauce since none of their pizza have much if any. They have a tendency to just throw #cheese on the dough without. So, tonight (to celebrate end of the #semester), I decided to try at a REAL (Okay, fairly recognizable) pizza-ish pizza! Came out yummy!πŸ•

#Chinese Salad

For the Inner #rabbit in us all.  This was one of the #veggie dishes served the other night.  Just lettuce and #Chinese chives and cucumbers.  Actually nice to see Veggies after being stuck with fast Food for a while 😜  This is the closest China really gets to salad…

No Smoking

We’re still a little stumped by this one.  About 8 #cigarette holders were on the table, filled with water and #nosmoking signs🚭.

Ok, I get the ‘no smoking’ 🚭. . . . but then why put out 8 cigarette holders🚬 at all???  If to SAY no smoking, wouldn’t one do the job?πŸ˜‚

They took up a lot of table space, and we were all just rather perplexed 😜

#Smoking Snowman

Apparently the delivery guys at #KFC were feeling cold yesterday. ⛄️❄️  Temps are getting towards -23C

Not sure how much help he’s gonna be today. . . . . 😜

I love that he’s still got his #cigarette πŸ˜‚

#Baking in China – Apple Pie!

Viola! I make a mean #ApplePie if I say so myself. Little more difficult to do in #China; but still. . . . came out delicious!   People at work appreciate it 😜

This is my face about 90% of the time while living abroad 😜

Sadness, #Chinese still is Such a complex #language!  Even after 4 years!

Pork Belly!

#Pork Fat Back / Pork Belly is a popular dish in #China!    The have a kind of #BBQ sauce they add to it. Good! (although this one was a little oily.)

Fishes and Peppers!

#Chinese New Year’s is upon us! I know because there are fish with red pepers being hung!

#Fish around the new years represents “niΓ‘n niΓ‘n yΗ’u yΓΊ (εΉ΄εΉ΄ζœ‰ι±Ό)” which means ‘May you have Fish every year.’  Apparently it is pronounced the same as ‘May you have extra each year.  Also the word for fish is similar to the Chinese word for ‘enough’

Apparently the red peppers repesent good luck and income (I’ve had different responses).

So the picture means – ‘May you have enough of everything you need in the New Year!

#Crawfish day at #KFC! 😜  There were about 7 employees rushing around with floating hats.  Totally made my day!
