#Crawfish day at #KFC! π There were about 7 employees rushing around with floating hats. Totally made my day!
Scrabble night at the #university! The #Chinese students first time ever – we hosted a big #competition! π They had a ton of fun – one group earned 38 points in a turn!
Totally awesome haunted house tonight. So proud of my juniors! All by themselves, they planned and put the party on. The 3rd and fourth floors had been transformed. Piles of leaves all through the halls and rooms, scattered chair overturned for the ‘abandoned effect’! The classrooms were amazing – evil butcher room with the creepy guy chopping bloody stuff; creepy dead bride in her red wedding dress, ghosts everywhere including up in the window ledges – they’d jump from the ceiling to scare people. π±π» People hiding under tables or in fabric screens would grab your feet π I loved it! Such a great job!
Fun times with a 5 hour #layover at #ICN #airport! The historical parade was out in force for photo shoots, and #angelinus coffee served up some delicious #peachtea and cookies & cream smoothie.

Had to visit the US Embassy (a mess – the guards don’t speak English and sent me through the mile long Chinese line getting VISAs. The head guy found out and came to get me π Soaking Wet!π¦Gave them my appoinment sheet and it crumbledπ Anyway, now just waiting before I brave the 1hr subway to the #train.
Stopped at Baker & Spice here at Liangmaqiao station. The #food is delicious! So many choices and #bread loaves! Got my mom a Walnut Bread and me a#Chocolate #cupcake. The cupcake top inside was a surprise – completely filled with chocolate mousse!!! So delicious!!! π΄

Henan is home to the Shaolin Temple – made famous in Jackie Chan’s films and the center of Chinese Kungfu or “Wushu.” Β The monks did a performance for the Henan Tourism Festival!
#Fire drill! #China style! π£ Because we take your security seriously – we use real #smoke bombs to stink the building up, train you to go through usually locked doors, and ask that you guess when a fire starts because we have no smoke alarms. But you know, security! Β At least now maybe they’ll stop padlocking all the outside doors at night π

Mom, Mother, Mama, Ma, ε¦ε¦, Mommy – whatever you call her, if you got a good one, say thanks. Small piece of advice – despite stereotypes, not every mother is a good mother. There are many out there who aren’t that awesome. If you got a good one, appreciate her. Let her know how grateful you are that she cared for you. She doesn’t have to – everything she’s done for you, it’s because she loved you. So just take some time and honor her for that!
For the rest of you, if you have someone out there who acted as a mom-stand-in for you, say thanks to them too. Even if it was your single father, grandmother, step-mother, foster mother, friend, or just a great adult. Tell them how much that care meant to you.
These people are important in our lives – it’s important for us to show it!
