Tried ordering an iced tea and cola. Pointed to iced tea picture . . . waited then said ‘Bing #Cola’ (Iced Cola). She looks at me funny, but says ‘ok!’ Hands me a cola in the tea glass. ππ Had to go back and get the tea – too funny!

Ice Cream Coffee
Iced Coffee #China style! Here in Henan, most restaurants don’t have ice. The Chinese don’t really like iced drinks – believing the cold unboiled water will make them sick and is a bad combination with your inside organs. (Probably true of the water here.)
But Ice Cream is a different story. Still bad for your health but not so likely to kill you. So if you Order iced coffee or an iced soda You’ll get Ice cream coffee or a ice cream float π

The New Hotel Security System
Haha!π Visited a 5β hotel this weekend and found that the bathroom was entirely see-through. Embarassing, no?!? Asked my students why and got this lovely response ‘Many hotels in China do this. It’s very common. Because sometimes the men, they come with a strange woman. Or two. Or different ones. And when they go to the bathroom, all their money is taken. So this way they can see and be safe.’ π π That’s hilarious. A five star hotel arranges its bathroom around keeping rich men safe from their ‘women’. Sad.
